We provide the rods and tackle, you catch the fish!
Fishing at Base Camp is easy! Flat sandy beach and grassy banks make accessing the pond a breeze. Before heading out, there will be a discussion about fishing safety as well as basic first aid. Families will learn about different types of fishing rods and reels and discuss the types of natural bait and artificial lures. You will also get to practice tying fishing knots.
While you are out there, you can identify two different species of fish that are native to the area and collect pictures of four different types of food eaten by fish in the wild. Fisherman will discuss the concept of leave no trace and how to be a good sportsman when you are fishing. There's no better way to spend time with your family and friends than enjoying some time on the pond!
