We are excited to continue academic workshops for August! Creative Writing Workshops partnered with Math Exploration Workshops are open to rising 1st through 5th graders. Each session will offer a half day of Creative Writing and a half day of Math Exploration. Each session will be mostly academic focused, but we will still have some time to some fun outdoor camp activities.
Session 1 (August 14-18) $410 capacity 10
- Creative Writing: Step into the world of Fantasy Writing! Come explore magical landscapes in our forest oasis. Visit and revisit worlds of faeries, warriors, castles, heroines and heroes, dungeons and dragons and anything else your mind can conjure up!
- Fantasy Game Design: Using the template of their morning writing, students will be invited to design and execute game boards featuring their landscapes, characters, and plots. Math will be a large component of the assigned directions.
Session 2 (August 21-25) $410 capacity 18
- Whodunnit!?: We know you love reading them, now try your hand at writing the perfect mystery! Learn to explore characters at greater depth; think up your clues and characters; design your settings and plots; and have some wicked good fun!
- Math "Treasure Hunt": Embark on a challenging mathematical, clue-solving, equation deciphering, message-uncovering campus-wide math extravaganza! Students will receive math questions based on their grade level state math standards, with an eye to the upcoming year.
The camp day runs from 9AM- 4 PM. Extended day is available for an additional fee of $100 which extends the day 8AM- 6PM.
