Yeti, or not Yeti - That is the Question

Winter is here, and with it comes rumors that the Base Camp Yeti is back and we need your help tracking it down by the end of the week! Learn how to recognize animal tracks, read a map and compass, and practice the survival skills needed to thrive in winter: hiking and/or snowshoeing, first aid, fire-building, and more! The week will culminate in a camp-wide search, putting their skills, teamwork, and problem-solving together to find our (alleged) furry friend, or help them escape.

This program includes an overnight here at New England Base Camp, where attendees are encouraged to build their own shelter--from wooden lean-to to a snow cave--and sleep overnight in it.

Parents are welcome to come in Friday afternoon to make sure their children survived the overnight and stay through a closing campfire full of skits, songs, stunts, and recognition of all the awesome work put in by the campers over the course of the week.

For participants in Scouts BSA, the activities will be working towards Wilderness Survival, Orienteering, Winter Sports, and Mammal Studies Merit Badges, alongside a wide variety of Scout through First Class requirements.
