Are you a new parent or volunteer involved in Cub Scouts or Scouts BSA? If so, we know that the process for getting “caught up” seems endless! Online forms and trainings, a firehose of new information and knowledge, and sometimes you’re left with more questions than you went in with: We’re here to help! Come on down to camp and we’ll be glad to provide insight and answers about topics from youth safety to navigating the online trainings to surviving your first weekend out! A few key notes:

This isn’t a replacement for the leader specific, IOLS or BALOO, but will help you whether you’ve taken those trainings or not.

Bring your children! We’ll have some activities open and available to them while we’re meeting!

Topics we plan on addressing are:

* How to get started (trainings and tips to acclimate)

* Where to look for help and who can help with what (council and national r resources)

*Key points about youth safety (not a replacement for SYG training)

*Differences between Cub Scouting and Scouts BSA (for parents and youth)

*Making sure you’re ready for your first camping trip with the unit.

* Questions you might have!

If you’re interested in attending and have your own questions that you want to make sure are addressed, feel free to send them to nicholas.kerpan@scouting.org!
